IT contractors working in the UK are among those helping to push the country's cyber power forward.
In fact, according to the latest cyber power index from Booze Allen Hamilton, the UK is ranked as number one among the G20 nations.
Contractors do have some areas to work on, however, as the data showed that Britain's IT employees were only deemed to be average in terms of education and IT skills, as were its innovation environment and the development of smartgrids.
However, the UK came out well when its abilities were assessed over all in terms of "both the success of digital uptake and the degree to which the economic and regulatory environment promotes national cyber power”.
IT contractors might want to take advantage of the country's standing in order to step up their effort to find a contractor job they enjoy. However, chances are that many will also find success abroad as the cyber index found that the gaps between cyberpowers around the world are narrowing as an increasing number of countries are starting to invest in computing and telecommunications technology.
